I thought it might be useful to start a thread on places to eat in Providence, for people who haven’t been before. It’s a college town, so you can certainly find cheap pizza places, sports bars, etc.
I’ve heard great thing about the pizza at Al Forno, 577 S Water St. It’s definitely on my hit list. Andes serves up great Peruvian/Bolivian food, a bit of a hike from the venue but the meal is worth it.
Here is what I remember from 2 years ago.
Red Fin Crudo + Kitchen – Had a lovely seafood and porkbelly lunch and ran into Cody Goodfellow
Rogue Island – Good food and drinks right by the lovecraft arts council store
The Dorrance – Lovely old building (former Bank) lovely food. Pretty pricy.
Rocket Fine Street Food – Walk-in food truck. Very welcome sight when stumbling back to the hotel late at night and still hungry.
The Red Fez – Traditional off-sight watering hole for Necronomicon.
G Pub – Good Food, Good beer
Correction: it wasn’t Rocket Fine Street Food it was Haven Brothers right in front of city hall.
