Here is some general information provided to help you plan your pilgrimage to Weird Providence, and to help you get around once here:

Once you’ve arrived, you’ll find that Providence is a reasonably small city with good public transportation options and lot of opportunities to walk safely along some of our historic (though sometimes hilly) thoroughfares. If you’re wanting to do some real exploring, we recommend getting a pass from RIPTA, our public transportation system, which has buses and trolleys traveling all over the city – RIPTA buses even go most places in the state!

Getting here
In order to complete your pilgrimage, here are the best options:

Rail – there are regular MBTA commuter rails from Boston, and Amtrak trains (including Acela) from Boston and NYC, etc, arriving into the heart of Providence, just a few short blocks from the main venues at the Graduate and Omni Hotels. What better way to arrive into town than in classic style!

Air – Providence’s T.F. Green airport is located just ten minutes south of downtown, and has regular train and bus connections.

You may also consider flying into Boston’s Logan Airport, and then taking a shuttle bus to downtown Providence – placing you very nearly at the steps of the Biltmore Hotel, with the Omni just around the corner. This is about an hour ride using the Peter Pan Bus Line.

Parking in Providence:
Unfortunately, there aren’t a lot of cheap and easy options for parking, though there are a few. One great resource is this handy online guide to parking options of all sorts, both for overnights and day visits.
