NecronomiCon Providence 2022 FILM PROGRAMMING
VENUES: AS220’s Black Box Theater (95 Empire Street, 02903) and the Providence Public Library Theater, (3rd floor, 150 Empire Street, 02903)
Note: All film screenings and theatrical events are free to all pass holders, except the Dunwich Horror Picture Show Sunday night at the Columbus Theater ($5 for all). All screenings will be open to the general public for $10 a day.
Along with so many other events taking place as part of NecronomiCon, we’re excited to again feature a great array of selected films and shorts – combining some of our own faves, old and new, and some from our friends and co-conspirators at the H.P. Lovecraft Film Fest in Portland Oregon.

FOLK HORROR SCREENINGS

This feature length documentary explores the rich history and complicated cultural underpinnings of folk horror films from the birth of the genre in the 1960s all the way to the present day.

THE LOTTERY
A no frills, starkly terrifying, short adaptation of Shirley Jackson’s classic work. American folk horror distilled to its very essence. Plays before Eyes of Fire.

Pakistani-Canadian filmmaker Qais Pasha embarks on a cathartic journey as he traces the life of H. P. Lovecraft from woodland cemeteries in Rhode Island to the docks of New York, and on to the cobblestoned streets of Quebec City.
