Our 2013 page for gaming:
No convention involving the works of Lovecraft and the Cthulhu Mythos would be complete without games. From the insanity of Call of Cthulhu and Arkham Horror to the zaniness of Cthulhu Munchkin, we here at Necronomicon Providence praise and embrace all games that immerse the player into the eldritch world of cosmic horror. We have thus reserved a considerable amount of space at the beautiful Hotel Providence that will be dedicated to the myriad card games, board games, miniatures and RPGs that Mythos fans the world over know and love.
In addition, we will be joined by some of the biggest names in the world of Lovecraftian gaming – Sandy Petersen, Mark Morrison, Scott Glancy, Oscar Rios, Jeff Carey, etc, etc. These special guests will be leading game-oriented discussion forums, vending special edition merchandise, and in some cases, running the awesome games they invented or helped to design.
Though the primary bulk of games will be officially held at the Hotel Providence, this does not mean that we do not endorse, nay – encourage each and every one of you to play Mythos-inspired games anywhere appropriate. From Cthulhu Dice tossed from the safety of a hotel lobby or a home-spun LARP that spills out into the haunted streets of Old Providence, feel free to celebrate the Mythos in any and every way that inspires you.*
*Please celebrate responsibly. Local, State, Federal, and International Laws might still apply.
For those of you interested in RUNNING any games during NecronomiCon, please use our link to submit your proposals. We are very nearly ready to announce our gaming schedule, but would still love to consider some additions.
Deadline for submissions is May 20, 2013.
